A little bit about me

  • I was born in Spain and moved to the UK at the age of 11. I moved to where I will only refer to as Middle Earth. I no longer live there….
  • When I moved to the UK I couldn’t speak any English whatsoever! I now speak 4 languages.
  • I’m a little deaf.
  • I have been to around 35 countries.
  • The thing I’m most proud of is working as a volunteer in Sri Lanka after the 2004 tsunami.
  • I’m a rubbish runner but I have completed two 10k runs – one for the Red Cross and one for Cancer Research.
  • I have done a bungee jump and it was amazing!
  • I collect snowglobes.
  • Pink is my favourite colour.
  • 2011 was the year when I realised that I had to pursue a career in nursing 🙂

  1. Hi, I’ve just found this blog and have read pretty much all of it in one go!
Like yourself I am a little bit older and suddenly got hit by an overwhelming desire to become a nurse and I’m slightly obsessed! I have found your blog so helpful as although I’m very excited about this sudden career change, I am completely terrified that I’ll be useless. I’m also grateful for your advice on learning new information, I have to write everything down repeatedly to get it into my head but I’m going to investigate podcasts and YouTube videos 🙂
Thank you so much for you’re wonderful (and brilliantly written) blog.

    • Hi Laura,

Thank you so very much for all your kind comments and for reading! I’m sure you have noticed that I have written in a long while…my life has been consumed by all things nursing! However, you have given me a quick nudge to update my blog! Good luck with your nursing career – I’m sure you will shine! xx
